She will be forgiven for now but, It will absolutely be held against her and as a result against her husband. It will be an, "Oh bless her heart." If you are familiar with the South, the saying is a way to let others know that you are an idiot at best.

No, I never ever used the n word, but I'm certain there would have been random off the cuff thoughts that would have been embarrassing these days. Not racially charged or anything like that, just dumb and not fully thought through.

Nobody of any race ever used any of the known-but-never-said terms to describe themselves or others. Not for a joke, not for an insult, not for a description, not for nothing. It was always the appropriate politically acceptable term to describe whomever from wherever.

Why would I apologize for something I didn't do?

I do apologize sometimes when I'm wrong, but I see no need to apologize for being the target of Oakbear's attempted smear. If anything, they should apologize to me as I was rather offended though I think it was an attempt at humor.
