I don't really follow the WNBA but I had certainly heard of Caitlin Clark from her college years. I began to see little blurbs on social media that Clark was being mistreated - by her coach, by her teammates, by the refs, by opposing players. Seemed strange because she is the golden goose for the WNBA and should be getting the Michael Jordan treatment.

So I tuned in a bit and it is wild. Her coach pulls her out of key moments of games, doesn't set plays for her, and easily gets mad at her. Some of her teammates seem to noticeably not pass her the ball. The refs call her for ticky tack fouls and let other teams pummel her. Some people say it is because Clark isn't as good as they say and because she has a bad attitude. She does seem to be struggling to just an All-Star level this year instead of an elite level. I suppose everyone being against you and your coaching purposefully trying to take you out of the game can do that to you. Last night the image below happened to her with no foul called. She left the game early with an injury. It's the craziest thing - it would be like if the NBA tried to take Larry Bird out because he had a bad attitude and didn't get along well with others.

Alyssa Thomas also kneed CC in the groin with no foul call. Later, CC takes a three and a player jumps out three feet to pressure her and CC lands on her foot and falls with no foul call. Maybe CC's back and groin were hurting, and she was just fed up with it all.

Alyssa Thomas was getting revenge because her stick figure girlfriend got in an altercation with CC on Monday and went bananas. Alyssa Thomas and the refs should be suspended.

Yes, good entertainment. Lots of potential narratives- black vs white; mean girls vs privileged; stars vs proles. This league has taken off. The Valkyries are one off the hottest tickets in town. The play has gotten way better as well.

She took out MVP Napheesa Collier last year, who is still injured because of her. Whatever you gotta do to try to not have a losing record, right? Nice 8th win of the season: won by two while injuring CC and fouling out Boston and Mitchell. Garbage.

Here is a pic which shows the intentional kneeing to the groin. She continues to land into her, putting her full weight into that knee.

Here is a pic of Alyssa Thomas still on CC even after the loose ball is recovered and a three point shot is in the air. CC is still trying to protect herself from the unwarranted assault at this moment and tries to shield her body with her arms. Alyssa refocuses on the ball and gets up here and no foul was called. Remarkably, CC went down in the first place because her defender accidentally tripped her. The refs are biased and/or horrible.

I used to think I could watch a game as long as Clark was playing in it but no, it is still too painful to watch.

*I watched every hoop game my daughter played in from 1st grade through high school. She was pretty good.

After that I gave up women's hoop at any level. I enjoy watching women's golf, tennis, swimming and especially track. Hoop never worked for me. The fact they put a premium on aggressiveness to make up for lack of skill really p@isses me off.*


*My friend ref'd girl's HS hoop. During one of his first games one of the refs told him to quit calling fouls or both teams would have no players left by halftime.

*Clark is the WNBA cash cow because she is the only reason to watch that horrible product. She should make bank, quit, and let that whole house of mediocrity collapse.

Most NBA players brutally palm the ball while dribbling. Never called.

Most of them after receiving a pass shuffle to their 3 point launch spot. That is a travel. Never called.

Often an offensive player will receive a pass, bobble it, drop it the floor, pick it up and start dribbling. That is a double dribble. Never called.

Offense and scoring sells with fans. The NBA also over protects its guards and shooters, something the women's league should get the heads out of there arse and start doing.

I LOVE UCONN.

I enjoyed watching her play for Iowa.

In fact, contrary to others who crap on women's basketball and women's sports in general, I make it a point to watch the Women's Final Four for Basketball and Volleyball every year.

The intense competition, coaching decisions, and momentum swings are amazing!

Tomorrow, I will be watching Formula 1, Monster Energy Motocross from Red Bud, Michigan, and the Steve Prefontaine Classic.

Then hitting the concerts at Moraga Commons.

I'll be driving from one small town on a Greek Isle to another small town on a Greek Isle to eat more amazing Greek food and look at more amazing Greek sites. Will probably then cheer on Canada against Morocco in the evening with the unusually early start time.

I once played against a kid, great athlete mind you, with one hand! He palmed the ball every damn dribble - and you couldn't complain one bit,
But I swear he was pulling up for a jump shot when all of a sudden he's racing past me for a layup. I was like W T F, and then he's looking at me like I'm a racist or something.

I later saw him on the city evening news for leading his high school to some championship. I think I must have been 22 at the time, lol.

I thought, "well, I know how that team won! Refs just let him do whatever he wanted!"

Just telling this still makes me laugh!
