Your information is misinformation. First of all FDA regulates food safety not CDC- monitoring is not regulation and FDA has not changed their guidance on Cyclospora, if anything they are enhancing it. Secondly you would have us believe a political donation influenced policy and then believe that in return for this donation Taylor Farms was rewarded with multimillion dollar recall, lawsuits and potentially the loss of their business plus a false positive.

Monitoring is absolutely regulation. It's probably the foundation of regulation. And the FDA didn't change anything with cyclospora and that is the problem. The new rule was going to go into affect and Trump's government delayed it, allowing this outbreak to be unseen for longer.

The change of course by the FDA will absolutely help Taylor Farms from a business perspective with lawsuits and business funding.

The made monitoring by states voluntary, this did not end it. An incomplete database did not cause this outbreak and it was not FDA but CDC that made the change. In addition state reporting on Cyclospora had always been different- some report on illness some on a positive test.

All of this is irrelevant to your National Enquirer headline that the Trump administration is causing explosive diarrhea. Right now we don't know who or what caused it but it wasn't a database.

The problem is you. You think FDA stopped monitoring but it was CDC who made it voluntary. You think that CDC monitoring is regulation of food safety. It is not, it's is the responsibility of FDA.

FDA has promulgated best practices for control of pathogens in produce. These have been longstanding and are still in effect. The plant in Mexico and Taylor Farms is responsible for implementing and validating these on a continuing basis- it is the responsibility of the processor because FDA cannot inspect every plant in the world. Again, longstanding policy.

You also think that a campaign contribution influenced regulatory policy again tieing it to the monitoring which you incorrectly assumed was done by FDA. To date there is no evidence that this campaign contribution had anything to do with FDA regulations or compliance- in fact a false positive is very rare and a big black eye for the agency. If anything, Taylor Farms looks wronged by this but I suspect there is additional data justifying the recall.

You have used bits of information and connected them to a hysterical headline and conspiracy of Trump causes explosive diarrhea when nothing relating to the cause of illness is the result of Trump, just promulgating misinformation
