Cause if you don't think the entire trump clan won't be hauled before congress, invoke the 5th and then turn around and get charged with contempt of Congress and hauled into court you are not paying attention.

Or even worse....they will but have the resources that comes from having a 10 figure net worth and just lawyer it. Meanwhile the peasants? Get ready to spend down your assets for high priced attornies.

Really ANY Republican that cares about the country should be writing to Paul and telling him to stop. Do we REALLY need to prosecute an 85 year old guy who really was, at worst, making some wrong calls during a pandemic???

Your at worst is actually the at best scenario.

This is all bark and no bite. Do you really think the man (and his family, friends and associates) that needs the POTUS pardon power to be ironclad is going to have his own private DOJ test its flex going after Fauci (or anyone else with a pardon)?

"The most powerful thing a president has, they say, is the power of pardon. So he was pardoned by Biden, and I respect that. I know how powerful it is. … They say it's literally the most powerful thing a president has."

Quite possibly correct (^), but you may be giving him undo credit for strategic and reflective decision-making. I'm thinking about the lead-up and beginnings to our current situation with Iran, seemingly done on a whim.

Fauci's efforts prove the axiom "no good deed shall go unpunished."

He's a happy warrior!

If one knows the arena and is willing to endure Doing The Right Thing, one marches forth confidently.

I'm sure it's exhausting.

Not everyone needs the things Trump needs in order to be to be At Peace with themselves and the world.

Weak character vs strong character.
Fauci is strong! Is he really 85?!?!?
Damn, what rockstar!!!

Well, then I would be willing to sacrifice one Fauci for a whole bunch of Trumps and his friends and associates breaking rock piles at Federal penitentiaries because their pardons didn't protect them. Heck, some of them might even be good for the pentobarbital spike at USP Terre Haute.
