I didn't realize that this makes the 5th straight NL West crown, 13 out of 14 and 14th straight playoff appearance.

Not a rag on the dodgers or celebrate them but is this good for MLB? ESPN article said that this hasn't been done since the Braves and the TBS fueled dominance era. Say what you will but one of the smartest things the NFL ever did was impose, through labor strife and all, strong revenue sharing. Ditto the NBA - while it lacks parity the interesting thing is how the movement of the era's GOAT and GOAT-lites create pretty remarkable shifts in dominance year to year.

Yes, championships are what counts, they barely won last year and three championships in five years doesn't compare with the great dynasties of the Yankees, Celtics or Canadians ; it's more in line with what the Giants pulled off.

They've opened up the Asia market as baseball continues to expand in popularity. They' can sign a lot of players but injuries and duds still happen. The expanded playoff in baseball also means a lot more mediocre teams get in sharing money and hope and that a team- which fits baseball more than other sports- can go on a run and win.

Dodger/Yankee hate/envy is good for baseball.
