A lot of people have been saying it has been discovered that Bill King and Commander Whitehead were the same person.

*Now you know where the the Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the World" idea came from. There is nothing new under the sun.

Bill King was the best basketball and football announcer I ever heard. His radio calls during the Raiders winning streak in 1973 (?) were legendary.

I still remember the time during a Warriors game where Bill took offense with the officiating, cut off his mic and said a few things as a ref ran past him. The ref called a technical on King, probably the only time that has happened to an announcer.

Yes, absolutely the best. I used to turn off the TV audio and listen to Bill on the radio when watching the Raiders. I bet a lot of others did that too.

I would prefer to listen to Mike Pawlawski than the homer dipsh@its on ACC Network but for the syncing issue.

I was a little kid during the famous George Blanda stretch of games; it's when I fell in love with football.

Bill King was even better at basketball, arguably the greatest ever. Too bad the A's job paid a lot more.
