El Sayed is quickly becoming one of my favorite Democrats. As an atheist, I really appreciate when he speaks about Freedom of Religion. I don't know that we've ever seen that before in American politics, except for when it's designed to protect Christians.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of how businesses operate. GM is investing billions in new technology, manufacturing, and product development. A stock buyback doesn't mean those investments stop. Buybacks return capital to shareholders, including pension funds and retirement accounts owned by ordinary Americans.

The idea that every dollar not spent on buybacks would automatically translate into higher wages or more jobs is economically illiterate. And banning buybacks wouldn't force companies to invest more in workers. It would simply eliminate one legitimate way businesses return capital to investors. You can debate whether GM's buyback is the best use of its money but calling it "robbing the future" isn't sound economic analysis, it's political rhetoric.

When a company has cash they can either invest it or return it to investors. Returning it to investors is a tacit admission that they dont have any profitable ideas - which is kind of ludicrous for a company like GM that is so far behind other car companies in so many ways. Why are we protecting GM from international competition when they arent even trying? They should be focused more on investing in their future. Or America should be more focused on opening up international competition.

And he will be known WORLDWIDE as the POTUS who repeatedly lied, had zero morals or integrity, was impeached not once, but twice, championed an INSURRECTION that injured and maimed police officers and sent the cost of living thru the roof with our national debt surpassing $40 Trillion.

The 47th President also repeatedly screwed his BASE not being the America First or Peace President that he campaigned as ... with tariffs and a war of choice that cost the average American household THOUSANDS of dollars a year.

He was also known to cozy up to the likes of Vladimir Putin and the Saudis who butchered a journalist and supported hijackers who attacked us on 9/11 and murdered 2,997 people.

That's what President Chump will be known for.

We might have to start a new term: El-Sayed Derangement Syndrome (ESDS).

"Gave his victory speech in Arabic" . . . actually it was in English with like four Arabic words in there. Then trying to connect this to a statement from Iran, where they do not speak Arabic. What are we doing here?

I remain fascinated by some of the American Jews who absolutely lose their damn minds about Muslims and Israel. Obviously it's not everyone (El-Sayed got like 60% of the Jewish vote) but it's a fascinating thing to me. Like, what do you think is going to happen as a result of this guy going to the Senate and being one vote out of 100?

His mother and half sister are confirmed members.

His half sister has said "My family has long been MB," referring to the Muslim Brotherhood. She described her mother's activism in the Muslim Brotherhood during the early 1970s while attending college in Egypt. She stated that family members had been jailed for belonging to the organization.

So, you have nothing specific about El Sayed himself. I disagree with my father and a sister about their conservative politics. Does that make me a conservative?

This seems to be a fairly comprehensive summary:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/abdul-el-sayed-faith-family-michigan-senate-campaign/

I'd say the connections are . . . thin at best. His mother left the family when he was a toddler so he was raised by his father and stepmother in Michigan. Her activities within the Brotherhood all happened in Egypt before he was born. When his half-sister talked about how the family "has long been MB" it was in the context of her saying she thought the organization did things poorly. Nothing to do with Abdul El-Sayed himself.
