Was I napping when this long-time thread got moved to OT? When did it happen? I can think of one poster who will be pleased.

I live in the East Bay. Guy walked past me on the avenue this morning in a Dodgers cap. I felt like tipping it off his head. I'm a Giants fan, but if I went to LA, unless I was headed to a Giants-Dodgers game, I wouldn't wear a Giants cap around town. Respect.

Giants fans need to grow up about the rivalry. People like that are why my Dodger fan wife doesn't wear her gear around Northern California because she's tired of people that take the rivalry too far (mixed marriage - I grew up a fan of Bay Area teams).

I would never dream of doing more than making a friendly wisecrack at a rival team's fan in their gear. I save all my aggressive behavior for Biden voters.

People taking the rivalry too far sometimes is just sports. It's not confined to Giants fans.

I once took a tour of Dodger Stadium wearing my Giants gear, the tour guide gave me **** for it the whole time, told me at the end that he respected me wearing my colors, and a good laugh was had by all. All in good fun!

The Brian Stow incident happened when the giants were a decent team, which was more than a decade ago. There is a small Latino gang element to some Dodger fans. Hopefully, that continues to be diminished.

Part of the fun was that there was a section of the tour where he asked people to name the Dodger players with retired numbers up on the stadium wall, and eventually I was the only guy still raising his hand and he was like "C'mon, don't let the Giants fan get all the answers!" I earned a bit of respect for knowing the history.
