This is a crusade by Trump to elevate immigration because most of the other topics are difficult to solve and conceptualize and he is a simpleton.
Both parties in the legislature simply don't have the political courage or equity to be put their name behind immigration reform, as there will be blowback, obviously more so for Dems than Rep. Obama deported more illegal immigrants than Bush but nobody seemed to care (including me, I applauded it).
Turns out it doesn't matter what color or ideology you have, it's actually rational and logical to not want foreigners circumventing the legal process of entrance and citezenship, particularly when it's other American minorities and immigrants who they're competing with. Gah-lee.
The only reason to object a Wall is if you think it will work. Or the cost. But just ask somebody would they want a Wall if it were free.
