Really interesting comment. You have the impression that all your posts are read.
Let me get this straight. You put up a useless poll. Don't read the responses, but put up some highly inaccurate results based not on actual input since you didn't bother to read the requested responses but instead you put up your "alternative facts" based on your random impressions and then post some make believe as some data gathering.

Got it. High value add as usual from you. Probably represents your value here and elsewhere. A class clown with very little marketable value. Not surprised by your political position. Seems consistent with the cards life has dealt you.
Thank you for expressing yourself in such a polite manner and elevating the discourse. Good show, old chap! These days people rudely type in STFU. But you stick with politely suggesting over and over and over again that you make more money than everyone else based on their political positions and calling them low value. Much less personal. Much more polite.

Cough...Hypocrite!...Cough.

Just like to point out that he didn't even address you, let alone insult you, so you have no excuse for this like overinflating being told to STFU. I actually agree with you on the merits here. I also have no problem with what you said to him. What I do have a problem with is if someone directed the same post to you, you would lose it.

Interesting comment. Observation: on top of your widely mocked inability to control your anger (everyone on BI assumes you beat your wife) you have a very skewed sense of how important and good a person you are. You are neither important nor good.

And you are irrelevant. Much like a housefly as far your impact your life has on this world. And no one cares whether you are good or bad because you have no impact or relevance.

How about him putting my username on his list of Trump supporters? Based on what?

And I don't make a point of suggesting I make any amount of money. But if you say that because you assume I make over 600k, I need to STFU and stop being a whiny *****, I will consider those as fighting words and not some polite response. Why don't you go to someone in real life and tell them to STFU and stop being a whiny ***** and see how well that goes for you. What you did was the quintessential internet tough guy act because you would never say that to me or to another guy in real life without expecting to throw down. So, if you think I cannot express my political belief because I make over $600k, then I would say it is you who focuses too much on what others here make.

OK. A deep thinker resorting to Hitler reference. Maybe I gave you too much credit.

I can just picture you...wooo, I am going to pull up a picture of Hitler, use my amazing and unique Photoshop skills and post in on BI and these old nerds who have nothing better to do than spend days and nights on BI will think I am cool. You have proven me wrong. Your life obviously adds great value to this world.

Why don't you go in real life and call someone a class clown with no marketable value and see how that works for you? Why does it always come down to marketable value for you?

He didn't insult you. He wrongly put your name on a list. You could have just corrected that, right? You didn't have to say:

Quote:

Probably represents your value here and elsewhere. A class clown with very little marketable value. Not surprised by your political position. Seems consistent with the cards life has dealt you
Just to set the record straight, I didn't assume you made over $600K and I was not saying if you made over $600K you had no right to a political opinion. I pointed out that the to pay over 10% on ANY of someone's income in California, you had to make $590K after deductions. So, in my opinion, if someone makes over $590K, they should stop whining about paying literally 1% more on every dollar over $590K than the bulk of the people are paying. I stand by that. Someone in that position should have some appreciation for that good fortune so that they don't complain about a 1% bump in tax and they should also realize that for most of them, they would not be making as much money if they lived in any of the states that do not have that level of taxation, because the fact is those jobs are primarily in those states with higher taxes.

That is a very specific point. You make $600K, don't whine about paying like $1000 more in taxes. Have some context in what I said. I specifically said good for you if you make $600K.

Your reaction, was massively over the top, getting very personal about my value as an attorney because you assume I don't make over $600K. You basically entirely flipped out. And now, based on no provocation, you've played that card again on someone else. You said I had very little world value (because you think I don't make $600K) Now you say BA is a class clown with very little marketable value. This is a pattern for you.

Chill out. People's world values are not determined by their income. You are overcompensating. We are not the football player that gave you swirlies in high school nor are we the cheerleaders that wouldn't date you.

I don't really want to get into my personal income on a public board. I can only say that I make enough that I know that what I make does not make me more valuable than anyone else and I also know that playing the you have no value because you make less money than me card loses the argument.

I will also tell you this. My wife works for the government. She does virtually the same thing I do, works the same hours I do, and gets half the salary I do. It was her choice, supported by me, to use her law degree more to do things that made her feel good about herself than to make money. Her value in the marketplace is much lower because her value as a human being is much higher. And I can tell you that every single person she works with could be making double on the free market. One of the few things they get is a decent pension which does not come close to paying them back for the lower salary.

My wife has the same degree you have. You apparently chose a field that earns more money. That is your right. I don't know you, but I know her and I know her colleagues. They are excellent attorneys. I doubt very much that you are better than they are at your job (and I certainly make no claim that you are worse). So, yes, when you claim to earn more than $600K and complain about having to pay an extra percent in taxes because you think the state pays people like them too much money, as far as I'm concerned, you should stop whining. When you claim to have more value because you make more money, that is out of line.

I'm sorry I said to stop whining like a b. (I only said, "b" by the way. Coulda meant bullfrog) I'm sorry I said should STFU instead of shouldn't complain. Your response, however, was outlandish and your completely unprovoked insults of BA were far more personal than what I said to you. I am trying to be more polite. But you expect a lot more from others than you ask of yourself.

So, actually, yes, your posts absolutely make it seem like you care. If you didn't care you wouldn't respond and keep increasing the insults. The opposite of love is not hate. It is apathy.

If you follow a woman ("girl"? What is this the 80's? Hope he's not following minors hoping to score) and she tells you to eff off, she is not interested. If the woman comes to your house every day to scream eff off at you, she may not be interested, but she cares about something.

OK, should have been clearer. I don't care whether, as he wrote, he and his kind "relate to me", I hope we are not in the same spectrum that he and I can relate to each other. Now, if some stranger you don't care about otherwise came up to you and insulted you and your wife, and you yelled at him back, that does not mean you care about him. But you care that some meaningless person insulted you and your wife.

I would have corrected him, but, as you will note, I was responding to his post to wifeisafurd where he basically stated that he doesn't care that he is wrong.

And on the tax item, since I wrote that I don't mind paying the tax and that I can afford to pay and should pay it, how was I whining? My point is that, while CA collects more revenue, I believe they do less. Go back and read what you were responding to before you resorted to STFU. When I responded harshly to you telling me to STFU, you doubled down and wrote STFU again and added "stop whining like a *****". In no place did I indicate how much I was making. You were the one who decided someone making over certain amount needs to STFU and stop whining like a ***** even when I was not complaining about taxes. But you again lie that I complained about taxes I pay. Please quote me, or stop lying.

So, I think this is the last I am going to write about this or going on about this with you. I may not respect your integrity in responding to posts, but at least I respect your intelligence so I won't escalate further as I would with someone who is just an idiotic poster. But, as before, you rewrite history and ignore what you and I actually wrote. And it is quite a bear to read your long posts on a forum when I am just looking to kill few minutes to shoot down some liberal fallacies I think are dangerous.

Where is your basic human decency? At least out of pity, can't you stop asking him to ignore you? Based on the context of his posts, does it seem like he has led an interesting life or has anything else to occupy him? Why would you deprive him of this little bit of joy he gets from life?

Here's a clue. When someone says "no offense, but..." They are about to offend. When someone says they aren't going to complain about paying taxes and then write a whole post complaining about paying taxes, they are complaining about paying taxes. It doesn't absolve you. As I said elsewhere, I actually didn't think I was telling you to STFU because I honestly assumed you were factually wrong about paying 10% on a large portion of your taxes (honestly, I still think that) because I didn't think you were the type of person that would complain about having to pay the salaries of government workers if you did in fact make more than $600K. My intent was to refer to Bill Maher and people make large sums like him who do complain about their taxes and to clarify that the 10% rate doesn't kick in until $590K and I'm sorry, I think that is a ridiculous thing to complain about.

I don't know what about STFU triggers you so much, but frankly that is pretty damned tame. And while you keep misquoting me "stop whining like a b" isn't exactly brutality. Have you been in a lockerroom? A bar? Geez, man

You are a member of this club if you are not voting for Biden. Simple as that. I'm aware that some may not vote for T again, but I make no assumption that not voting for T means that you're voting for Biden (two separate things). If you are, in fact, voting for Biden, just let me know and I'll remove you from this list. Tip: the IT team works a little faster when the request is not in the form of an insult.

Does it seem like I care whether the likes of you and those who think like you relate to me? Is that what you got, that I care about you or what you think of me? Does it seem like I care what idiots like you who thinks posting pictures of Hitler is some clever retort thinks? I bet you were the kind of stalker who, when a girl told you to **** off, took that to mean that she was interested.

But it does seem like you care quite a bit, and you are milking your Photoshop skills that may have been interesting in early 2000 for couple of decades now.

The meaningless person just put your name on a list of people he thought were voting for Trump. He did not come up to you and insult you. He most definitely didn't insult your wife. He didn't insult you at all.

My wife, a diehard Bernie voter was having lunch with some colleagues who said they thought she'd support Mayor Pete. She politely told them she was supporting Bernie and then came home to me and said "CAN YOU BELIEVE THEY THOUGHT I'D VOTE FOR THAT IDIOT?!" She did not tell them they were class clowns with no marketable value.

Why don't you go in real life and call someone a class clown with no marketable value and see how that works for you? Why does it always come down to marketable value for you?

He didn't insult you. He wrongly put your name on a list. You could have just corrected that, right? You didn't have to say:

Quote:

OK, one more.

You are absolutely wrong that wanting California to spend money on things that make the lives of underprivileged actually better instead of funding pet projects and enriching pensions of police officers, fire fighters, etc. beyond what the state can afford means I am complaining about my taxes when I say I am not and am happy to pay. While I am not begrudging any money any one else can make, if it is coming from the tax payers, the states should strive to actually make it go further for people who need it the most. The primary public school system is a mess, especially for the inner cities. How is that complaining about my taxes? You assume too much, including how much I make. And if you honestly think that most of us in our age and in our profession make less than $600K, you are being disingenuous. Let me know how many corporate lawyers you know who have been practicing over 20 years at big law firms as partners and in-house as general counsel make less than $600K. So, you telling me that you were not insulting me by saying in response to my post that anyone making more than $600K needs to STFU and stop whining like a ***** is dishonest or ignorant, especially from another transactional lawyer who should know how much our type in the legal profession make.

And I don't care that STFU is tame to you. I expressed my anger at you first using that, but you doubled down. And so I believe you deserved the escalation that followed. And you go to a bar or a locker room and tell strangers to STFU and stop whining like a *****? Really? Don't know what type of places you go to, but I know from my experience that people came to blows for much less than that. And I guarantee you, with me not knowing who you are or what you look like, if you told me to STFU and stop whining like a ***** in person, it would not be a friendly follow up. And I think you know that too. But, why don't you try it. Next time you are at a bar, when you hear some stranger say something you don't like, go up to that person and say stop whining like a *****. You are not my friend, and so I am not going to take it like friendly banter.

And I don't care whether people like you or others think I have anger management issues. The people I care about are fine with how I am and are not saying stupid shyte to me that people here do. And if you feel like you need to be careful with what you write to me, then stop responding to my posts. Never asked you for your opinion. And I never asked for people I don't quite respect for their amateur analysis of me. So, again, unsolicited opinion about me. I do wonder why you think you are entitled to opine about me unless you want to insult me. That is the only time I would do it with strangers, including for people I am clearly trying to insult. I just am not weasly about who I am insulting.

Now, if some stranger you don't care about otherwise came up to you and insulted you and your wife, and you yelled at him back, that does not mean you care about him. But you care that some meaningless person insulted you and your wife.

I am sure if your wife's colleague wrote that she supports Trump, and she stated that she does not, and the colleague's response was "I don't care, I am still going to say you support Trump", her response would not have been as tame. But again, I am not your wife, and I don't need to be. I am not holding her up as someone I need to emulate. I will respond the way I respond, which I believe was quite reasonable. And I am not asking for your affirmation as to whether it was or not.
Did he say that to you or did you butt in on someone else's conversation? After the person had already (reasonably) responded on his own behalf.

Yes, you will respond the way you wish to respond. And if anyone talks to you half as rudely, you will go exorcist baby on them.
And so do you. You just write three pages to do so.

A bar? Geez, man

Your anger management issues have become legendary. Seriously, I'm rewriting things just to make sure you don't get the wrong idea and explode.

Dude. Congratulations. You have done really well for yourself. Well, I think, because I know what you have to do for $600K, and I wouldn't. Awesome for you if it is what you like to do.

I work for a large tech company. We have lawyers who we hired from Microsoft, major telcos, and IBM. Prior to this gig I worked for one of the largest companies in America. We have a very experienced legal group with a higher customer sat rate than any group in the company. I can tell you without hesitation that no one in our legal group makes $600K except maybe the GC, and I don't think so. I interact with corporate attorneys every day from other companies. I've had friends retire that never made $600K. No one I know makes $600K outside of General Counsel or big firms. Everyone I know works where they work as a lifestyle choice over big firms.

Big firm attorneys make $600K (which is why companies like mine have stopped using overpriced big firms unless absolutely necessary). To be honest many of them make the same hourly rate but just have to work a lot more hours for it, or they paid their dues working a lot more hours when they were younger and can ease off the gas now.

You are completely out of reality if you think I should assume you are making $600K because you are a corporate attorney. I really don't care. I chose my path. (Literally, a former boss wanted to groom me for GC, and I said, thanks but no thanks, and he respected that decision because we talked through personally what i would mean for my career and my life) I'd put a gun in my mouth before I did a legal job that paid me $600K.

What the hell are you talking about. A senior corporate counsel I hired from Google was making $300K in base, 30% in ICP, and $200K in equity. I have no idea how you think no one but a GC at a tech company would make more than that. A Deputy General Counsel at a big tech makes less than $600K all in? I am really questioning how much you really bullshyte. When I was a GC, I was paying my Deputy General Counsel in charge of my M&A and Securities group I hired from one of the big law firms over a million all in and my CCO $800K all in You are so full of it.

And do you know what the average per partner profit at firms like Skadden, Latham, Cravath, Davis Polk are? $600K is what you pay the top senior associates or of counsel 8 to 10 years out of law school, with non-equity partners making closer to a million.

And I don't care what you make. My point is that you, as a transactional lawyer, is full of shyte when you say you assume that a transactional lawyer with over 20 year experience was making less than $600K and so you were not intending to insult me.

I see that you went to the same charm school as T.

T: Get the seniors to relate to me by equating being a senior with being senile.

calbear93: Get the "old" people on BI to relate to me by telling them they have uninteresting lives and need to look at shiny objects and other mindless amusements to help them focus on something other than how sad their lives have become.

Yes, but I don't claim they insulted me when they didn't say anything to me.
You are being intentionally dense. I explained multiple times why he was being slimy putting names like wifeisafurd and mine on his Trump supporter list (what was the stupid point of that, anyway). I think I responded maybe less than 5 times to any post he has made, so who the hell are we to each other that he would put my name on this stupid list?

But go ahead and make yourself feel better by continuing to split hair. Yes, you are so cool when people act foolish or insult you. Go get yourself a cookie, and write a three page memo on how your choice of cookie makes you morally superior.

Why don't you go in real life and call someone a class clown with no marketable value and see how that works for you? Why does it always come down to marketable value for you?

He didn't insult you. He wrongly put your name on a list. You could have just corrected that, right? You didn't have to say:

Quote:

A bar? Geez, man

Your anger management issues have become legendary. Seriously, I'm rewriting things just to make sure you don't get the wrong idea and explode. If you want everyone to treat you like that kid on the twilight zone, okay. I just hope the day never comes where calbear93 posts anything at calbear93 because calbear93 would never put up with (no, don't put shyte. It might upset him. Delete. rewrite) what calbear93 says to others without (no, don't post losing his shyte. It might upset him. Delete. rewrite) becoming very upset.
