Dec 17, 1892, 10-10 tie
Dec 2, 2006, 26-17 Cal
Dec 1, 2007, 20-13 Stanford
With the early signing date just weeks away, what better time for a big visit weekend than Saturday's 121st Big Game clash between Cal and Stanford?
Cal’s recruiting plan in recent years was to reserve the first couple weeks after the season for the majority of their official visits, allowing the staff and players to focus mainly on recruits during bowl prep on their official visits but the two-week postponement of the Big Game meant the annual showdown would occur in December for just the fourth time in history.
With that being the case, the Bears will break recent precedent by hosting a large group of their final recruiting targets along with committed recruits this weekend.
Uncommitted targets on official visits will include El Camino receiver Trevon Clark, Moreno Valley receiver Ty McCollouch and Colorado safety commits Carl Jones (Bakersfield HS) and Titus Toler (St. John Bosco).
Committed official visitors will include Chaminade linebacker Blake Antzoulatos, back for his second visit in two weeks, El Cerrito receiver Makai Polk (who also has a CIF playoff game this weekend), Torrey Pines OL Brian Driscoll, Los Gatos linebacker Kyle Smith and Liberty (Peoria, AZ) linebacker Ryan Puskas.
The Bears will also host a large group of unofficial visitors, including commits Myles Jernigan (South Grand Prairie, Texas linebacker) and Oaks Christian offensive lineman Cal Frank and uncommitted visitors Michael Churich (Serra-San Mateo tight end and son of former Miramonte and Cal QB Ken Churich) and Amador Valley athlete Dom Mazotti along with a trio of 2020 uncommitted visitors in Modesto Christian tight end Xavier Carlton, Narbonne safety Brandon Jones and Oak Hills offensive lineman Nofoafia Tulafono.
Cal and Stanford head into the Big Game at 7-4 a piece and the victory will determine which of the Pac-12 array of bowl tie-in’s each program can expect to play in during December.
