Following the harder than expected 33-20  victory over Weber State Saturday, some shuffling of Cal's depth chart will be in order. 

In many instances the Bears reserves played better than the starters, and earned consideration for promotion. The most obvious example is running back, where Patrick Laird, who a month ago was paying his own university bills, had a day to remember. The junior carried the ball a dozen times, gaining 191 net yards and scoring three touchdowns.
