Rambo to Transfer to Texas Tech

Cal senior linebacker Evan Rambo announced his intention to transfer to Texas Tech as a grad transfer.

Rambo initially played safety in his injury-plagued tenure at Cal before switching to linebacker. He played in 12 games and compiled 12 total tackles in 2018, including two sacks and four tackles for loss. He had 34 tackles overall in his Cal career.

One of the driving factors in Rambo’s decision reportedly was the inability to gain admission into Cal’s prestigious Haas Graduate School of Business, usually reserved for those with multiple years of outside work experience. He’ll be immediately eligible to play in 2019.
