2019 Hoops Player Review: Connor Vanover

April 30, 2019

Adjusting to the speed and athleticism of D1 college hoops can take a while for most freshmen. It can be even longer for post players compared to guards or wings. It’s the coaching staff’s job to try to account for that and speed up the process. For Connor Vanover, the 7-3, 225-pound stretch center from Little Rock, Arkansas, it took a significant head injury for things to begin to click.

Before Vanover went down with a concussion and broken nose against Cal Poly on December 15th, he was averaging less than five points and less than 10 minutes per game.
