Jake Tonges From Walk-On to Walking Tall

Six weeks ago Jake Tonges was primarily a special teams player, well down on the depth chart at tight end and paying his own way through school.

That was six weeks ago.

Going into Friday night’s home game against Arizona State, he is a big cog in the Cal offense, a pass-catching tight end who has shown he can be dangerous, witness his 60-yard reception last week against Ole Miss. And, he is on a full scholarship.
