Several months after he was hired, Mark Fox finally gets to do what he is paid to do, coach the Cal men’s basketball team.

The Bears will hold their first official practice of the season Saturday morning, with 17 players reporting for duty. Some, such as Paris Austin, Matt Bradley, Grant Anticevich, Juhwan Harris-Dyson and Andre Kelly, saw action for Cal last year. Others such as Kareem South, Joel Brown, Lars Thiemann and Kuany Kuany are new to the program.
