Greatwood Blames Himself for O-Line's Performance

When a team gives up nine sacks, as Cal did against Oregon State on Saturday, the blame almost always falls on the offensive line.

Head coach Justin Wilcox tried to spread the guilt around, and to a degree he is correct. Yes, there were occasions when the ball could have been thrown sooner, and some times running backs who were assigned protection duties fell down on the job. 

But pass protection begins with the men up front, and Cal’s group did not perform well.
