Weaver Gives Cal Presence in the Middle

The injury to Cameron Saffle began a game of musical linebackers in the Cal defense and sophomore Evan Weaver found himself the man in the middle, as he moved from outside to inside, where he is a major contributor.

"He’s a physical guy, he can run," head coach Justin Wilcox said. "He’s pretty natural in there for not doing it much."

It actually represents the second position change for Weaver, who last year was a defensive end.
