Bears Face Stanford in Pac-12 Tourney Wednesday

The Pac-12 men’s basketball tournament pairings have been announced and Cal (13-18) 7-11) is seeded 10^th and will face Stanford (20-11, 9-9) in a first-round game Wednesday in Las Vegas. Tip-off is 6 p.m. and the game will be shown on Pac-12 Networks

The Bears and Cardinal split their two regular-season meetings. Stanford won 68-52, at Maples Pavilion on Jan. 2. Cal won the rematch at home Jan. 16. 52-50.

The winner advances to a quarterfinal matchup against No. 2 UCLA.

Top-seeded Oregon, third-seeded Arizona State and No. 4 USC also drew first-round byes. The other first-round games Wednesday match No. 9 Utah against No. 8 Oregon State, No. 12 Washington against No. 5 Arizona State and No. 6 Colorado against No. 11 Washington State. 

The semifinals are Friday and the final Saturday. The tournament winner receives the Pac-12 conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
