Former Arizona defensive coordinator Marcel Yates came to Cal in the offseason, replacing successful DB coach Gerald Alexander, who departed to the NFL, coaching with the Miami Dolphins.
So far, the veteran coach likes what he sees from his unit.
“The group is a hard-working group. A lot of experience,” said Yates. “We have some good leadership with Cam Bynum, Elijah Hicks, Josh Drayden, Daniel Scott. Those I would say are our leaders.
