Wilcox Elaborates on Cancellation

Contact tracing puts an entire position group in isolation, leaving the Bears unable to field a team, ASU game in doubt.

In a Zoom call with the Bay Area media on Thursday, head football coach Justin Wilcox offered a further explanation as to why the season opener against Washington on Saturday was canceled. 

He said that one player, who remains asymptomatic, tested positive for the coronavirus and was placed in quarantine. Had it been just the one player, the game might have been played.
