With a Week to Go, Wilcox Pleased With Bears

The Cal football team opens its season a week from Saturday, hosting Nevada at Memorial Stadium. With the training camp now in the rearview mirror, head coach Justin Wilcox sounded pleased with his team during his media session on Saturday.

He did say that freshman offensive lineman Dylan Jemtegaard, who had been having a fine camp, was sidelined long-term with a lower-body injury. Wilcox was also not about to reveal who had won the backup quarterback job.

But his overall tone was positive.
