FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) – Andre Kelly had 23 points and 11 rebounds as California nearly upset No. 21 Seton Hall in a 62-59 loss in the third-place game at the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off on Wednesday night.

Trailing 60-59, Grant Anticevich missed a three-pointer with seven seconds left before Seton Hall (4-1) knocked down two free throws to extend its lead. The Pirates then fouled Joel Brown, who missed both free throws, on the ensuing possession.

Anticevich scored 15 points, including 10 in a row during a 12-5 surge that gave Cal (2-4) a 56-51 lead with four minutes remaining.

Both teams put together runs throughout the contest. After Cal made a 14-2 run midway through the second half, Seton Hall's Jared Rhoden connected on a jumper and a layup during an eight-point stretch for the Pirates to claim a 46-44 advantage.

Cal went up 39-38 with 12:30 remaining when Lars Thiemann blocked a shot and Jordan Shepherd made a transition layup. Shepherd then hit a jumper to make it 41-38 after another rejection by Thiemann.

Seton Hall led 27-25, going 12 of 15 from the free-throw line in the first 20 minutes.

Kelly made his first seven shots from the field and finished 7-for-8 along with a perfect 9-for-9 at the free throw line. He's the first Golden Bear with two 20-10 efforts in a season since Ivan Rabb in 2016-17.

Rhoden paced Seton Hall with 21 points while Alexis Yetna and Tyrese Samuel each scored 10.
