Bishop Amat DE Afalava Makes it 6 For Cal
The Bears picked up thei sixth commit of the 2023 class with the verbal they received today from Bishop Amat High School defensive end Tiumalu Afalava.
The 6-3/265 defensive end has visited Cal twice including Junior Day in March and had a strong relationship with D-line coach Andrew Browning. Also an excellent student with a 4.1 gpa, Cal’s strong academic profile factored in highly for the Polynesian Bowl invitee.
The 3 star DE who hails from the same Bishop Amat program as Cal running back Damien Moore has excelled on the camp circuit in SoCal including the Under Armor Next All-America Camp with several standout performances. He also holds offers from Michigan, Georgia, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, Louisville and more.
In nine games as a junior, Afalava compiled 31 tackles, 4 TFL and 1 sack in 2021.
