Stanford Preview: Cardinal Are Just Like Bears, Except They're Different

Cal opens Pac-12 play Saturday at Stanford and the Cardinal are a lot like the Bears.

The teams are not mirror images exactly, but they have a lot in common. 

For starters they both have 6-7 records, which include some embarrassing defeats. Cal, of course, was on the wrong side of the scores against UC Riverside, Chaminade and Central Arkansas. Eastern Washington dumped Stanford, and both the Bears and Cardinal lost to  Portland State.

Another common thread is the reliance on youth.
