Cal’s inconsistencies and mistakes on defense will be much more difficult to work around now that inside linebacker Jackson Sirmon has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a biceps injury.
Sirmon, who had surgery on his injured left arm last week, has been one of the Bears’ top defensive players during his time in Berkeley, leading Cal in tackles a year ago while spearheading the unit again this season.
