Cal Football Tuesday Notebook

The bye week gave Cal’s football team an opportunity to get a head start preparing for Saturday’s home game against No. 24 USC. Just as important, the Bears were able to use the extra time to take a deeper look into their own issues across the board.

The self-scouting was maybe more important defensively, as the Trojans are riding a two-game losing streak yet remain potentially explosive with 2022 Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams operating the offense.
