Bears Add Houston Cornerback Khamani Hudson
The Bears dipped into the Texas market again with the commitment of 6-1/170 North Shore (Houston, Texas) cornerback Khamani Hudson today as an addition in the 2024 late signing period.
“Khamani’s a corner who’s got really good intangibles and can run,” Cal head coach Justin Wilcox said. “Fast and can run. Has some good length and we feel he’s got a big upside.”
Hudson was on his official visit to Cal over the weekend a week after the Bears extended an offer to the 3 star Houston athlete who was in his first season at cornerback for North Shore and the visit made a big impression on the future Bear.
“I enjoyed my visit,” Hudson said. “I got to try some new things I’ve never seen on my side of town and get a feel of a culture I’m not used to. The coaches, players, and staff embraced me and made sure I knew that they were there to support me fully at all times, so overall I liked it at Cal.”
The Bears’ newest addition has the length and quick hips they’re always looking for at corner and also possesses an impressive 77-inch wingspan.
As a senior in his first season at cornerback, the speedy Hudson, who clocked in at 4.4 in the 40 totaled 2 interceptions, 11 pass breakups, 23 solo tackles and 29 total tackles on the season, earning 6A All-District honors in helping lead 15-1 North Shore to a 6A state semifinals win over powerhouse Austin Westlake and a close loss in the state championship to nationally-ranked Duncanville for the second straight season. He also handled punting duties as well.
Also offered by Houston and UAB, Hudson was an early commit to Lamar before flipping to Cal. Hudson becomes the 30th commit to the 2024 class including portal additions and grad transfers.
