BERKELEY – Road trips to traditional powerhouses Duke and North Carolina highlight California’s list of home and away conference opponents for its inaugural men's basketball season in the Atlantic Coast Conference, as announced during the ACC Network’s ACC PM program on Thursday.

Along with visits to Cameron Indoor Stadium and the Dean Smith Center, Cal’s 2024-25 ACC schedule will feature home and away games versus both of its partner schools – Stanford and SMU – as well as North Carolina State.

The Golden Bears’ 20-game slate will feature home-only games at Haas Pavilion against Boston College, Florida State, Miami, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Cal’s road-only opponents are Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.

As previously announced by the conference, the 2025 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will be hosted at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Specific dates and times for each ACC contest will be announced at a later date.

Will it always be two teams per road trip? If so then it could be Duke/NCSt and UNC paired with another school, or UNC/NCSt and Duke paired with another school.

One thing about the ACC schedule that is different from ours is that they regularly play a weekend game followed by a Monday or Tuesday evening game.

I hope we are in the top 15. I might go to the tournament next year.

"As announced earlier this month, the top 15 teams in the final league standings will play in the 2025 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament, played March 11-15 at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina."

Go Bears!

Based on Ken Pom, this year we would be #14, ahead of Stanford, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Louisville.

Tough schedule next year, obviously the ACC is a better basketball conference than the PAC regardless but UNC, Duke, and Clemson are all on the road (UNC and Duke are their ranked teams this year and Clemson is just outside the rankings)

If you're looking to get spanked and humiliated on two separate nights in the same week, you can do that at a lot of places in the City, for a lot less than the cost of a trip to North Carolina, and the experiences will likely be even more memorable.

We're better off playing teams we're likely to lose against on the road and those we have a better shot at beating at home, if the goal next season is to finish near .500 in the ACC.
