Bears Keep it in the Family With Commitment of WR Meyer Swinney
The Bears picked up a commitment from 2025 Minnesota WR/TE Meyer Swinney today on his unofficial visit to Cal for this morning’s scrimmage and elite junior day.
Swinney, the younger brother of Cal starting center/offensive guard Bastian Swinney has largely played wide receiver along with some tight end his junior season. He totaled 54 catches for 900 yards and 11 TDs in 2023.
“It was great," Swinney said of his visit. "I loved every part of it and committed, ready to join the family. Cal is definitely the right choice. I think they are great and gonna succeed this year in the ACC."
The 6-3/210 3 star junior pulled in offers from Miami, Ole Miss, Purdue, Pitt, Texas A&M and more before making the call for Cal. Swinney is the sixth commitment in Cal’s 2025 class, joining running backs Jojo Solis, Carter Jackson, quarterback Robert McDaniel, linebacker Carter Jones (almost visiting) and cornerback Kaden Cook.
