2025 Long Beach RB Anthony League Calls it For Cal

The Bears stayed hot on the commitment trail, picking up their third 2025 commit in the past week, adding 6-1/205 Millikan (Long Beach, CA) High School running back Anthony League‍ this morning. The 3 star RB picked up his Cal offer earlier this week and didn’t wait long to pull the trigger.

“I've been waiting for this day," League said after his commitment. "I love Coach AT's philosophy, how their practices are run, the scenery of the school - basically everything at Cal was all around great on my visit and I'm excited to become a part of their program."

The 3 star running back’s visit helped solidify the rising senior’s interest in the program after seeing things firsthand.

"I met the whole running back room on my trip,” League said. “It was great, especially how all of them were kind of like one family pretty much. Everybody could just chop it up, even outside of the football aspect. Everybody was like brothers. And Coach AT is the same way. You can talk to him about anything. 

"When I went up there, he was kind of breaking down film a little bit with me. He was telling me about how his relationship is with his players and how, no matter what any situation, they could you could just call him and just talk about any aspects in our lives. I like that."

As for Cal’s academic profile?

“Getting such a prestigious degree like I can earn at Cal can really set me up for later in life so that’s an important thing for me, too,” League noted.

As a junior for Millikan, the 3 star RB averaged nearly 10 yards per carry, adding 995 yards on 104 carries in 10 games along with 15 TDs on the season including returns.

League chose the Bears over offers from Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon State and more. He joins fellow 2025 commits QB Robert McDaniel‍, RB Jojo Solis‍, WR Meyer Swinney‍, OL Ben Howard‍, MLB Carter Jones‍, CB Kaden Smith‍ and DL Ike Okafor‍, who committed earlier this morning after his OV to Cal.
