2025 Texas ESPN Top 100 SF/Guard Taylor Barnes Commits to Cal

The Bears continue to load up on their talented 2025 backcourt class with the addition of 6’0 senior South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, Texas) High School SF/guard Taylor Barnes this week. Barnes is rated the 70^th overall prospect in the 2025 class by ESPN Hoopgurlz.

Barnes announced her commitment via Twitter, saying, “What an amazing journey! Sooo excited to become a part of @CalWBBall family! #GoBears! #PerfectlyBerkeley!”

The senior guard visited Cal last weekend and her experience on campus and her relationship with the Cal staff was the difference-maker for the newest Bear.

The 4 star senior will join fellow new guard commit Isis Johnson-Musah out of Detroit and Kansas guard Grace McCallop in the Bears’ 2025 class. She helped lead her South Grand Prairie squad to a 33-4 record in 2023-4, also going 12-0 in district play. Barnes chose the Bears over Texas A&M, Texas Tech and UNLV.
