Go Bears!
College of San Mateo QB Dominic Ingrassia Commits to Cal
The Bears added depth to their quarterback room with the commitment of College of San Mateo freshman quarterback Dominic Ingrassia. The 6-3/210 led CSM to a state championship and final national overall ranking while being named 1st Team All-State for the state champ in 2024.
The frosh QB completed 108-of-182 passes (59%) for 1,590 yards and 13 TDs and 4 interceptions. He visited Cal over the weekend.
“My visit was amazing,” Ingrassia said. “I had a great time. What stood out to me was how well the coaching staff took care of me and all of the things Cal has to offer. Between the facilities, the historic campus, and all of the resources Cal has, not only for football but life after football, it made it truly a great experience.”
Ingrassia was coached by Cal senior offensive assistant Nick Rolovich, who was the OC at his local high school, San Marin, where he served as offensive coordinator after departing Washington State. Ingrassia led San Marin to an NCS D5 title with a victory over future UCLA QB Luke Duncan and Miramonte as well as a state championship as a junior in 2022 and followed up with a stellar senior season, completing 182 of 256 passes (71%) for 2,917 yards and 40 TDs with just 2 interceptions - numbers reminiscent of another former Marin County standout QB in former Cal and current Detroit Lion QB great Jared Goff from Marin Catholic.
“Coach Rolo has been coaching me since high school so I already have a special relationship with him and he is someone who I really respect and look up to,” Ingrassia said. “So after I talked to Coach Harsin, Coach Wilcox, and the rest of the staff it was clear that this is a genuine, dedicated staff, who cares about their players, loves football and wants to win a championship. I knew right away that these are coaches I want to learn from and play for.
“The vibe around program is truly contagious. The building is full of smart coaches that are making us better student-athletes and men; and players who are ready and eager to learn.
“I’m looking forward to competing and playing for my teammates, coaches, and amazing fans. While also getting a Cal education.”
Ingrassia joins fellow QB commit Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele as 2025 QB commits as the Bears continue to rebuild their thin QB room with talented prospects. He will enroll this spring and participate in spring ball with three years of eligibility.
