The No. 3 California men's swimming & diving team defeated No. 9 Stanford, 175-125, in the 127th all-time meeting between the two teams led by graduate student Lucas Henveaux, who had a record-breaking day at the Spieker Aquatics Complex in Berkeley.

Henveaux rewrote the record book several times in the freestyle events while setting the fastest time in the country this season. In the 1650-yard freestyle, he clocked at 14.29.74, breaking a seven-year-old program record and setting a new pool record. It also set the fastest mark in the event this season. Following that performance, Henveaux set a pool record in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:10.82, the third-fastest time in the country this season.

Seniors Jack Alexy and Destin Lasco both won two individual events. Alexy touched first in the 50 (19.00) and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 41.61, the sixth fastest time in the country this season. Lasco took the 200-yard freestyle (1:31.85) and the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:31.68, the eighth-fastest time in the country.

Cal swept the relay events after touching first in the 200-yard medley relay with the A group of Lasco, Yamato Okadome, Dare Rose and Alexy with a time of 1:22.82. The Bears ended the day with a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle with the quartet of Nans Mazellier, Gabriel Jett, Bjorn Seeliger and Alexy in time of 2:47, marking the fifth-fastest in the country of the season.

Cal now turns its attention to the ACC Championships beginning on Feb. 18 in Greensboro, NC.
