The Bears picked up their second commit of their Junior Day weekend and third overall with the commitment of Long Beach Poly cornerback/nickel back Deon Jackson today a few days after his visit to Berkeley.
The visit made a big impression on the 5-10/165 3 star DB - enough that the talented cornerback - who will also likely get early looks at nickel back to commit to the Bears after a few days of reflection.
“My visit at Cal was amazing,” Jackson said. “What stood out to me is life after football & what they can do for me. My relationship with the staff is amazing. They’re very straightforward and transparent.”
As a junior, Jackson totaled 29 tackles, 9 passes defended, 1 interception and one forced fumble, As a 2023 soph, Jackson added 30 tackles, 1 QB hurry, 5 TFLs and 2 passes defended for the Jackrabbits. As a freshman at Orange High School, the future Bear had 27 tackles and 1 TFL in helping his Orange squad to an 11-3 record, bowing out in the CIF Southern Section D6 championship game.

Jackson becames the third commit of the 2026 class for the Bears, joining recent Corona Centennial linebacker Jonathan McKinley and Santa Margarita Catholic cornerback Jayden Crowder.
