Kansas City Chiefs Select Former Cal Defensive Back With 85th Pick
GREEN BAY, Wisc. – California defensive back Nohl Williams was selected 85th overall in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday.
Williams is the 247th Golden Bear to be chosen in the NFL Draft all-time, and becomes the 25th Cal defensive back to be selected in the draft.
During his career in Berkeley, Williams recorded 105 tackles, deflected 23 passes, tallied nine interceptions and added two forced fumbles and recoveries.
Williams, a consensus All-American and First Team All-ACC member as a senior last season, led the country with seven interceptions, led the ACC with 16 passes defended, finished fourth in the ACC with nine pass breakups, and returned a kickoff for a touchdown during Cal's season-opening win over UC Davis.
As a junior in 2023, Williams started all 13 games for the Bears while contributing a career-high 53 tackles along with six pass breakups, two tackles for loss, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
