Bears Stay Hot With Commitment From Corona Centennial DT Lucky Schirmer

The commitments keep rolling in the the Bears as they picked up commitment #18 of the 2026 recruiting class in Corona Centennial defensive tackle Kingston Schirmer‍. The 6-3/280 DT who goes by Lucky, was one of nine offiicial vistors this weekend, including two prior commits, Deon Jackson‍ and Camron Brooks‍.

The first two recruiting weekends have yielded stellar results, with five of the visitors committing the first weekend another four from last weekend and this weekend has yielded another three commits in Schirmer and Hawaii OT Esaiah Wong‍ along with a yet to be announced commit.

The 3 star DL held offers from Washington, Washington State, Arizona State, San Diego State and more before committing to Cal. As a junior, Schirmer had 20 tackles, 1 TFL and 1 INT playing for Damien High School in La Verne before transferring to Centennial. Schirmet is the second Centennial commit of the class, joining linebacker Jonathan McKinley. With his commitment, the Bears moved up to #16 in Rivals' recruiting class rankings.

Schirmer joins fellow 2026 Cal commits QB Brady Palmer‍, running back Victor Santino‍, WR EJ Morgan‍, TE Taimane Purcell‍, OL Tommy Tofi‍, Elisha Faamatuainu‍, Esaiah Wong‍, Koloi Keli‍ and Artem Korchagin‍, DL Nemyah Telona‍, edge Camron Brooks‍, ILBs Jonathan McKinley‍ and Jaxon Pyatt‍ and DBs Jayden Crowder‍ and Deon Jackson‍.

He may not be our highest rated commit according to the public recruiting sites but his film was by far the most fun to watch. Anyone who doesn't enjoy seeing him carry the ball as a FB and intercepting a screen pass isn't a real football fan.
