Friday Night Lights is back for a week eight look at how Cal football commits and their teams performed last weekend.

Camron Brooks‍ – 2026 DE from Thomas County Central (Thomasville, GA). The Yellowjackets blanked another opponent as their undefeated season continued against Northside, 70-0. Brooks came off the bye week with 3 tackles and 3 QB hurries in an all around dominant defensive effort. The battle of undefeated happens 10/24 as Brooks and the gang go up against Houston County.

Tyree Sams‍ – 2026 WR from Clovis North (Fresno, CA). Clovis North dropped another tough game against Buchanan, 30-20. Sams did not play in this contest. The Broncos will be traveling to Clovis West in hopes of ending this 3 game skid.

Taimane Purcell‍ – 2026 TE from Kamehameha (Honolulu, HI). Purcell and the Warriors suffered a tough outing against Saint Louis, 35-7. Stats were not updated from this game. Purcell looks to bounce back in a big way in their season finale against Punahou on 10/24.

Kamo'i Huihui-White‍ – 2026 OL from Saint Louis (Honolulu, HI). The Crusaders evened up the score in their big win against Kamehameha, 35-7. Final stats were not updated. Huihui-White will have a bye week before their final game against Punahou on 11/1.

Elisha Faamatuainu‍ – 2026 OL from Murrieta Valley (Murrieta, CA). The Nighthawks could not put together points in the second half blowout against Centennial, 48-20. The offense was slowed down as Faamatuainu assisted with 134 rushing yards and 78 receiving yards. The Nighthawks look to get back in the win column over Vista Murrieta on 10/24.

Jaxon Pyatt‍ – 2026 LB from Arvada West (Arvada, CO). Arvada West defense lead by Pyatt put up another shutout against Denver East, 48-0. Pyatt had 9 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 pass deflection on the game. The Wildcats look to keep the good times going as they’re 8-0  against Chatfield on 10/24.

Artem Korchagin‍ – 2026 OL from Thomas County Central (Thomasville, GA). Korchagin and the offensive line continues to roll teams as they had another impressive offensive win against Northside, 70-0. Korchagin paved the way for the balanced offense that accumulated 192 rushing yards and 191 passing yards on the evening. #7 in the state Yellow Jackets go up against undefeated #18 Houston County on 10/24.

EJ Morgan‍ – 2026 WR from Central East (Fresno, CA). The Bengals were able to escape Clovis West on a high scoring evening, 46-39. Morgan was a reliable target hauling in 5 receptions for 49 yards on the night. Morgan will look to have a big night against Clovis on 10/24.

Nemyah Telona‍ – 2026 DT from De La Salle (Concord, CA). Telona had a very productive night as the defense shut down Amador Valley, 56-13. Telona had a solid night, putting up 3 tackles and 1.5 tackle for loss. The Spartans travel to San Ramon Valley on 10/24 looking to stay undefeated on the season.

Luca Wolf‍ – 2026 TE from The NFL Academy (Loughborough, England). The NFL Academy was unable to come out with a win against Florida powerhouse IMG Academy, 41-24. Final stats were not uploaded. The NFL Academy will have 2 byes before going up against the Mexican Academy on 11/14.

Ernest Nunley‍ – 2026 CB from Western (Anaheim, CA). The Pioneers got back in the win column in a thrilling victory over Cypress, 34-27. Nunley produced on both sides of the ball with 6 receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown, then on defense added 5 tackles, 1 pass deflection, and 2 caused fumbles. The Pioneers look to continue to have a strong season as they go up against the tough Tustin Tillers on 10/23.

Esaiah Wong‍ – 2026 OL from Kailua (Kailua, HI). Wong and the Surfriders put up another solid win against Waipahu, 22-15. The damage was done through the air as the Surfriders racked up 245 passing yards and 50 rushing yards. Wong and the OL will have the week off before having a rematch against Waipahu in the season finale on 11/1.

Rocky Cummings‍ – 2026 ATH from Carlsbad (Carlsbad, CA). The Lancers put another solid win in the win column as the were able to edge out San Marcos, 31-28. Cummings did not play in the game and was much needed. Cummings will be needed in their next contest against La Costa Canyon on 10/24.

Kingston Schirmer‍ – 2026 DT from Centennial (Corona, CA). The Huskies continue to dominate their opposition as they blew the doors open against Murrieta Valley, 48-20. Schirmer pulled his weight on defense, racking up 7 tackles and 1 tackle for loss in the dominating win. Schirmer looks to control the trenches again against the high scoring Norco Cougars on 10/23.

Brady Palmer‍ – 2026 QB from Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, CA). The Dons got it done against Scripps Ranch, 41-0. Palmer did not play in the game with a shoulder injury. Palmer will be needed back this week as they go up against the #8 team in CA, Lincoln on 10/24.

Nainoa Lopes‍ – 2026 QB from Saint Louis (Honolulu, HI). The Crusaders bounced back in a big way with their dominant win over Kamehameha, 35-7. The stats were not uploaded for this game. Lopes is having a solid year with 1110 passing yards on 63% comp rate, 11 touchdowns and a QB rating of 151. The Crusaders get a bye before their season finale against Punahou 11/01.

Jonathan McKinley‍ – 2026 LB from Centennial (Corona, CA). The Huskies picked up another solid win against Murrieta Valley, 48-20. McKinley did not record any stats in the game. The defense will look to continue shutting down their opponents as the Huskies play high flying Norco on 10/23.

Frank Fanua‍ – 2026 DT/G from Mount Miguel (Spring Valley, CA). Fanua and the Matadors bounced back from last week’s loss, picking up a big win over Steele Canyon, 28-21. Fanua and the offensive line put up a display by picking up 144 rushing yards and protecting the QB to throw for 297 passing yards. Fanua will have a bye this week before their season finale against El Capitan on 10/31.

Deon Jackson‍ – 2026 CB from Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, CA). The Jack Rabbits suffered a heart breaker against Woodrow Wilson, 22-21. Jacksons stats were not updated. Jackson and the secondary look to shut down Cabrillo on 10/24
