Cal Basketball

Mistakes Cost Bears Chance at Victory Over WSU

February 22, 2018

Cal has known a lot of frustration this basketball season, including blowout defeats to the likes of Chaminade and Central Arkansas, but Thursday night’s loss to Washington State at Haas Pavilion had to be a low point.

Not only were they in it all the way, they had the game in their control in the final minute.  The Bears shot the ball pretty well (49.2 per cent), and a couple of bad moments notwithstanding played decent defense against a team that unloaded on them in January.  Justice Sueing regained his shooting touch and led the Bears with 25 points, reserve Roman Davis (15 above) had the best game of his Cal career and Marcus Lee was perfect from the floor.
