Cal has known a lot of frustration this basketball season, including blowout defeats to the likes of Chaminade and Central Arkansas, but Thursday night’s loss to Washington State at Haas Pavilion had to be a low point.

Not only were they in it all the way, they had the game in their control in the final minute.  The Bears shot the ball pretty well (49.2 per cent), and a couple of bad moments notwithstanding played decent defense against a team that unloaded on them in January.
