Masses Named To Associated Press All-America Team
California defensive back Hezekiah Masses has been named to the Associated Press All-America team, the outlet announced on Monday.
Masses, who was named to the AP’s second team defense, was tied for fourth in the country with five interceptions this season. In the ACC, his five interceptions was tied for the second most.
In addition to his five interceptions, Masses led both the nation and the ACC with 18 passes defended and led the nation with 1.50 passes defended per game. He was also tied for second in the ACC and nationally with 13 pass breakups and tallied 43 tackles in 12 games this season for the Bears.
Masses became the second consecutive California defensive back to receive All-America status (Nohl Williams, 2024).
He has now garnered All-America status from two of the five major All-America teams, (Walter Camp, Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, The Sporting News and Football Writers Association of America) with the remaining three teams being announced in the coming days.
