Polk to Stay Home and Rep the Bay With Cal

6-4/185 El Cerrito receiver Makai Polk announced his commitment to Cal this afternoon, choosing the Bears over Arizona, Oregon State, Tennessee and more.

The commitment gives the Bear the big, rangy and athletic receiver they've been looking for to supplement their wide receiver corps.

Polk tweeted out his commitment, saying: "For the next 3 to 4 years I proudly announce that I’ve committed to being a............... Berkeley Bear #GoBears @CalRecruiting

Polk took unofficial visits to Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, UCLA and San Jose State during the spring and summer to prepare for his decision.

Polk received his offer from Cal on June 1 after camping in Berkeley and has developed a strong relationship with the staff since then. 

"Everything's going good with Cal," said Polk, last night, prior to the commitment. "They've been like family to me ever since they started recruiting me.

"I love their coaching staff. Every one of their coaching staff is great at what they do. They really know how to establish a relationship with kids and relate really well."
