October 8, 2018

Following an return to campus in the wee hours of Sunday morning, the Bears held their first practice of the week Monday as they prepared for winless UCLA, which comes to Memorial Stadium Saturday afternoon.

This is the annual Joe Roth Memorial Game, which honors the memory of the Cal quarterback who died of cancer shortly after his college career ended in 1976. The Bears will wear throwback helmets (above) and uniforms to commemorate the occasion.

Linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk said that while he appreciated paying tribute to the legendary QB, the Bears still have to worry about the game.
