Has anyone else noted that its nearly impossible to buy a decent Cal baseball cap these days? If you're still finding it, where are you doing so? I see very off-brand and odd choices on Fanatics. Any word on a new apparel agreement? I've read that the Under Armour agreement is still in place, but if so, why isn't there more gear available.

I see stuff but very expensive. They want $149.00 for a polo shirt by Cutter and Buck that comes without a pocket. They can keep it.

47brand.com has very nice looking Cal hats and gear. Hope they are still all available.

Just try finding a Cal golf bag. Everything was out of stock. Have the UA agreement and the NIL lawsuit interrupted Cal gear production?

Calbears.com/Fanatics no longer has anything decent. Ever since UA tried to pull their stunt, it seems like they're trying to save face and just not provide any updated fan gear (probably also due to fans boycotting it overall and they're having difficulty pushing out their old supply). UA definitely shot themselves in the foot on this one.

To be honest, I'm jealous of UCLA rolling out their Jordan gear this past week.

I could be wrong here, but I thought there were some exclusivity restrictions put into the UA apparel contract. There might be ways around it using not athletic universal Cal logos, but there is definitely a shortage of good gear out there.

Every UA hat I tried on sucks, and it seems that New Era and Nike aren't making Cal hats anymore. Those were brands that made decent fitted hats and not the adjustable one size fits all stuff that only fits like half the people out here well.

47 brand is still making hats - they've always been decent, but their selection of designs seems to be smaller these days. Only a script Cal version readily available in their fitted 'Franchise' style - a few walking bear hats out there in adjustable only. I've found 47 brand sizes to be inconsistent enough that you really want to try them on in a store, or risk a headache if they are not properly sized.

Fanatics is getting to be a virtual monopoly as they control team stores for most of the major athletic leagues. This does not encourage competition or variety in designs- and their house gear is going downhill quickly too.

Unfortunately, UA pays such a significant amount over Nike, that I don't see any changes being made until the current contract is done.

According to the people at Bancroft Clothing( I was there last week) no store is allowed to sell any Cal gear unless it's Under Armorwhich in my opinion is incredibly stupid for Cal to allow this.

There isn't much out there, you're going to have to compromise.

Thanks everyone - very useful! It looks like the fitted classic styles will remain off the market until the contracted years with UA are up or UA decides to make more hats. Why would they choose to not make money from Cal fans when there's more money to be earned, right?

The 47 brand looks like the best option, IMHO.

This is certainly part of it -- and always has been. Additionally as others have alluded to, UA is trying to use the fact that there were a couple of pieces of non-UA Cal gear for sale on 3rd party sites as evidence of breach of contract (since they're having financial problems and are trying to get out of the deal). Meanwhile, Cal is hoping for a sizable settlement from UA for their (obvious) breach of contract, so they are incentivized not to allow anything that isn't UA gear from being on the market.

Given all of this, I think there's the least amount of gear available as there has ever been, and likely will continue this way until the lawsuit is settled.

well, you can always make one - several sites on the internet for custom t-shirts turn up w/ a quick Google search. Problem might be the, ahem, acceptability of the graphic. But there are also places in malls (yes, malls still exist) that will do custom stuff as well.

My Cal Nike Cap (one size fits all) that I bought 15 years ago is a bit long in the tooth.
But it was well made and also had 8 ROWS of stitches on the bill.

One of my favorite hats. I now have 5 ebbets hats after getting my Cal one

The 1980's Bears baseball teams wore this hat well past the time the rest of the athletic teams switched back to navy blue.

The vendor only has these in size 7. I bought one, put it through a ball cap stretcher, and stretched it out to fit my size 7 3/8 head.

lol, I have a script '47 hat that is great, the gold is a tad more goldish orange than I'd prefer, but it is a great cap with a dark navy and synth fabric that is soft but doesn't bleach and stain out. Cal script with a slightly modern take on a classic by having Golden Bears stitched into the top left edge of the brim. Looks good with my Reyn shirt lol, I love spoonercloth shirts, super comfy and durable, my dad (class of '68) turned me on to Reyns long ago.

Thanks for both the tip on the hat and hat stretcher. I never even knew about the stretcher and some of my prized hats seemed to have gotten smaller over the years. Can't wait to fix them

here's a photo of the 1940 team with Jackie Robinson...they did have the Block C

Cal wore a cap in the mid 50's similar to the UCLA 1939 cap from EFF. The only difference is that the Cal cap was navy blue.
