After the first game I said we hadn't seen enough. We've seen enough. This team isn't good and it's hard to imagine Wilcox turning things around.
As the saying in finance goes, we know how this ends we just don't know when it ends. It's up to Knowlton (I suppose with donors) to make it end sooner rather than later but I don't think that will necessarily solve the problem because we need to make a good hire and, well, that's not exactly a strength.
We are looking at more dark days ahead I'm afraid. Our best hope with Knowlton was that Wilcox would get things figured out. Basketball will be even uglier, if that is possible.
Mark Fox is not taking us anywhere but he did have to take over after the worst regime in school history, if he makes us respectable enough for the next guy that comes along, that is enough.
He's not, we are losing our best talent year after year. Jones was a bad coach, but at least he could recruit some and the players liked him. Fox is also a bad coach AND no one likes him. Except Knowlton and some alums that think hard as coaches like they had in high school 50 years ago work in the era of the transfer portal, especially in Berkeley.
