Unless of course the big donors still have issues.
Why would a coach with Freeman's CV be interested in taking over this dumpster fire of a program?Boot said:
Marcus Freeman.

Wait.....David Shaw is african american? news to me.jy1988 said:
I wonder if Shaw's presence on the Farm helps in this way.
When did this organizational apathy towards "major sports" begin and what was going on both on and off the field right around that time?Northside91 said:Boot said:

Organizationally, there's no desire to win in this sport. None.
Play with the aesthetics all you want. If the commitment to success isn't there, you won't be satisfied.

I think we can swing $600k too. Not sure if he would be willing to leave a good program for a junk program.
I think he is probably good in Reno. Reno and the surrounding area loves UNR and UNR sports. Housing is big and not too expensive, but appreciating quickly.Strykur said:LunchTime said:Jay NorvellStrykur said:

He is also 58 so if he were to move on from Nevada it would be his last stop probably, would he want to ride out in Berkeley, Reno or somewhere else?

many here are despairing the loss of DeRuyter...how about him for HC?
Yep. All you need to do is look at Cal's past and present AD's to realize how unvalued football success truly is.Northside91 said:Boot said:

Dan Lanning. Defensive Coordinator at Georgia.
Only 35. Dynamic, relentless recruiter.

Georgia has the best defense in the country. High energy guy. SEC cache.
Makes $1.25M a year at Georgia.
What we need to do is stop going through the athletic department to hire coaches and recruit players. The world has changed, and opportunity abounds.fat_slice said:
Who are we kidding - this AD sucks and has no plan for finding a quality coach. I think we are stuck with Wilcox and have to roll the dice annually on new coordinators.
The AD so far has extended Wilcox's contract prematurely And then there is basketball. How the heck do we trust this moron?

Not that it matters, but all the black coaches Furd has had (Dennis Green, Ty Willingham, and of course David Shaw) have all been fairly successful there.okaydo said:
