I agree. I think one of the issues for recruiting and performance may be that for AA athletes, Cal is just too jarring an experience (think Lily White and Asian) to adjust to. Perhaps a coach who can relate to their backrounds better may help. And yes, I'm going to be pilloried for agreeing with such an idea.
I wonder if Shaw's presence on the Farm helps in this way.

He is also 58 so if he were to move on from Nevada it would be his last stop probably, would he want to ride out in Berkeley, Reno or somewhere else?

And he has support from the school, and can recruit any player he wants. So, no, I dont think he would come, but money talks, and in this case, we could actually compete. Probably the only coach with any history that Cal can afford to poach.

"We" never have, just the bumbling Cal administration has. Or at least I never have. I was baffled by the hire and have been outspokenly complaining about Knowlton since his first presser.
