Makes sense if he got a 3 year show cause.

I want him to come back to Cal but only under the Cal Strong penance plan. Mainly because I want to see him do the stadium steps til he throws up.... and we could also use a good recruiter.

As a strong reminder, this is the penance plan Cal Strong propose for Tosh (slightly modified now that Tedford back at Fresno State):

  • Joe Kapp make him run stadium steps until he pukes once a month for a year.

  • Tosh have to donate the total combined amount of his UW salary to the Doe Library.

  • Tedford have to forgive him and come in to be the associate AD in charge of Tosh and football.

  • Tedford or someone else like Pawlawski picks his coordinators. Tosh need strong coordinators. He no genius with X's and O's.

  • Extra strong morals clause in his contract.

  • Extra strong buyout clause in his contract.

  • He reinstate only Dykes tradition that was ever worth a damn -- players singing Cal fight songs. This help remind him and show the team that Cal comes first.

  • Syd'Quan Thompson gets to punch him once as hard as he can in the stomach for messing with his brother and soiling the Thompson family reputation at Cal.

Tragic - dude is a tremendous recruiter and my gosh how much ammo would he have to recruit against us.

UCLA seems to be taking it's football very seriously now!

Wonder if he's one of the assistants Urban was alleged to have had a fuss with. Seems unlikely college assistant pay would be competitive with what the NFL could offer (assuming he has an NFL job to go back to).

UCLA might want to look at their APR (944) and GSR (71) before they hire Tosh. Not much room for error in APR and dead last in P12 GSR. Otoh, maybe it would be a good hire for them?!?

Tosh didn't hurt our APR. It was the guys who stayed committed to Cal after he left that killed our APR.

The guys who bolted with Tosh (either to UW or to other schools) all seem to have done fine academically in their new schools.

Its so ridiculous to blame Tosh for the low APR scores. The university of California gave the offer, Tosh just worked his butt off to secure the commitment. Was it his fault guys weren't going to class? Was it his fault they didn't finish assignments, etc... hes a dline coach, not a personal assistant. He also had an incredible track record of putting guys in the pros (alualu cam jordan, etc) and who knows how many more if he stayed at cal.

More than anything he was an amazing recruiter. He made NSD actually fun.

I miss the s...hit out of him. People need to move the hell on.

Cant wait to wake up to our 75th ranked recruiting class tomorrow!!!

Tosh would probably make $1 million or close to it if he were recruiting coordinator and a position coach at Oregon or Florida; that's what he made his last two years at Alabama. It's likely that as a position coach for the Jaguars, not a coordinator, he is making half that much or less.

And yes, as others have noted, Urban Myth and his assistants are not likely to be coaching for the Jaguars next season.

Reading and Comprehension 101 - I was talking about UCLA and their possible attempt to hire Tosh. I was replying to fat_slice and someone above who indicated UCLA is possibly looking at Tosh. He could be the death sentence for them...I'll revise my original post to make it clear.

I suppose. He made one particular NSD the most unbearable and difficult in Cal history, and it's not even close. So if the argument is that he's not responsible for APR and that class would have helped Cal, he's certainly responsible for sabotaging the Cal Football program. You can't have it both ways. He f&cked his alma mater, and hard.

Yes, Tosh is going to Oregon, reportedly as the co-DC. Former UCLA assistant Adrian Klemm is also joining Lanning's staff.

Better Oregon than UCLA. Last thing we need is another super team in the pac-12.

Tosh at Cal is not going to happen. Cal coaching staff is not changing (with the new DB coach) unless raided.

Cal Strong strongly confident that Wilcox would reassign one of his other assistants if Tosh wanted to come back and there was a viable plan in place for his reintegration here. Remember, Wilcox tried to recruit Tosh as his first DC on his initial staff.

Cal Strong put in place a plan to help Tosh atone for his misdeeds. Whether Tosh wants to do it or not is entirely up to him. But if he wanted to coach at Cal, Wilcox would make room. We have some real stinkers at several coaching positions who could be reassigned or dismissed on the grounds of being weak and being real stinkers.

Adrian Klemm
Quote:

[Adrian Klemm] and Mora were listed in three different lawsuits by three former Bruins players for mishandling injuries.[4]
Quote:

After Mike Munchak was named the offensive line coach for the Denver Broncos in 2019, Klemm was named the assistant offensive line coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, replacing Shaun Sarrett who was promoted to offensive line coach.[5] The Steelers promoted Klemm to offensive line coach on February 2, 2021.[6] On December 27, 2021 Klemm left the Steelers with 2 games remaining in the regular season to become an offensive line coach at Oregon. He is the only Steelers assistant coach to ever leave the team within the season, forever making him a coward in the eyes of Steelers fans.[7]

Tuioti leaving Nebraska for Oregon. Together with Tosh, Oregon will have more of Wilcox's original coaching targets than we will.

With Tosh and TT, their DL is going to be strong. Too bad it at morally and intellectually weak school. Wish Cal could have gotten these coaches in the right scenario.

Believe it or not, Lupoi is actually 5 years older than the new Oregon coach.

Sadly, Cal Strong see a fairly likely scenario in which Dan Lanning (who has no ties to the West Coast) either leaves or gets fired, and Tosh ends up as the Oregon head coach within the next 2-3 years.

Why WalterSobchak posting WEAK today?

The last two Oregon coaches not from the west coast have left voluntarily after a short period. Tosh is Lanning's marquis hire and instantly the best recruiter in the conference. Hard to imagine him not being the logical choice if Lanning ends up taking a job at somewhere like Mizzou or if he gets fired in two years.

It also possible Tosh goes back to his old ways and gets fired himself. But it unlikely he needs to with the resources at Oregon.

Cal Strong offer strong but friendly wager to any STRONG posters:

The bet is that Tosh will be the HC of a Power-5 school within 3 years.

If Tosh does this, you owe Cal Strong $150 of American goods of Cal Strong's choosing, plus shipping. If he doesn't, Cal Strong owes you $150 of Australian or New Zealand products of your choosing, plus shipping.

If he does it within 2 years, you up the payment to $200. One year = $300.

If Tosh fired within 2 years, Cal Strong up his payout to $200. One year = $300.

So now it's any P5 program in 3 years? What happened to succeed Lanning at Oregon in 2-3?

I'll give you that. Tosh has always been good at finding loopholes and exploiting the recruiting rules, from paging, to tweeting, to XBox to burning Cal's last in home with Shaq Thompson handing him over to Wilcox. He likely got caught at Alabama going over the line and had a three year show cause that he managed to have paid for by three different NFL teams. Now he can scheme a way to exploit the new NIL rules with the dollars and marketing power of Nike.

Cowardice WEAK!

Cal Strong strongly suggest WalterSobchak put his money where his weak mouth is. But WalterSobchak too committed to being internet tough guy and real life coward to either accept wager or offer strong alternative wager.

WalterSobchak not strong enough to do pushups and squats like Cal Strong . . . not strong enough to tip girl working the smoothie counter after receiving his post-workout smoothie so that she can save up for college . . . not strong enough to shmooze at cocktail receptions for nonprofits benefiting underprivileged kids. WalterSobchak prefer to be WEAK like stanfurd. But Cal not weak . . . Cal STRONG!!!

Cal Strong love WalterSobchak. Cal Strong no give up on WalterSobchak. Cal Strong here to help WalterSobchak! Whenever WalterSobchak want to toughen up his thinking, Cal Strong can help him be a stronger poster and a stronger man. Cal Strong here to help . . . like Cal.
