Carr never had that kind of protection at Cal.
We'll see what happens when he has to throw a long sideline pass.
Otherwise I was pleasantly surprised.

It's amazing how NFL ready Cal players are, despite the scouting reports. I don't think Garbers will ever be a full year starter in the NFL, but he could be an adequate back-up and end up with a solid NFL career. It's probably not going out on a limb to say he could do better than Josh Rosen.

Josh was good with 5 seconds of protection. A lot of SC QB's suffered the same fate (Yes, I know he is fUCLA).

I still think the Raiders will want to test his arm a bit more in the coming weeks before making a decision. But he passed the first test and got some good pub. from the broadcasters. That can't hurt.

I was impressed that Tarico immediately knew who he threw it to and knew that they had been teammates. although I think for only 1 year.

Actually it seems that it was Bowers throwing to Veasy although both were at QB in 2017, Veasy's last season at Cal.

Yes, Garbers redshirted in 2017 and only threw to Veasy in practice.
