The Sling stream itself (if you are just watching live) is fine. For me, it's mainly the DVR type features that suck.
Coming from a TiVo, I used to start watching 30-60 min in and then just skip all the commercials until you get live near the end. Due to being such a big fan of TiVo, I kept Comcast for way longer than I really should have, but it just didn't make sense to keep it yearly for a few pac 12 network games a year, especially since I had already moved to more reliable fiber internet.
Youtube TV DVR is a lot better in that it doesn't restrict you as much. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't have pac-12 network, and if you travel and try to watch a local game live, it will often force you to wait until the event is over (probably due to the same sorts of negotiations with the networks).
I love YouTube TV...been watching football games on DVR delay with its since 2017... But this season I encountered a problem.
Like the Cowboys-49ers game...I just don't have the stamina to watch 2 games back to back. So I started watching it nearly 3 hours after it started. YouTube TV makes it easy to do that....but I'm in the 2nd quarter and it stalls and there's a spinning icon...and the the next thing you know, you're at the goes to the end of the recording. And I'm seeing Erin Andrews on the field with 49ers players.
This has happened about 7 times this season. And it's happened in a lot of key games. I'll probably write a complaint.
But after using Amazon for Thursday Night Football, I'm more appreciative of YouTube TV more than ever.
When you fast-forward in YouTube TV (as you know), a little box is shown on the bottom of the screen showing when you're done going through the commercials. It's so smooth. On Amazon, fast-forwarding is like pushing a boulder uphill.
