Hello. Today I was informed that The Athletic no longer intends to cover University of Washington football, and thus I am no longer employed there.

EastCoast Bias!

(Almost) nobody cares.

It might be a stronger indication of how The Athletic is doing rather than UW football. I've been tempted, but never pulled the trigger on a subscription.

After 2-3 years being a subscriber, I think I'm going to let my subscription lapse after this one ends.

Was hoping it was going to be a breath of fresh air vs E$ECPN, but it's reverted to the same ol stuff. How great they are, P12 irrelevant, drink the Sankey kool aid of 4 straight to 12 without a discussion of 8 team playoff (read: widen disparity).

Seems like yet another tone deaf enterprise that doesn't realize involving all regions is better for the overall heath and benefit of the sport.

That said, some great writing and articles away from college football.

For what I pay each month, The Athletic is well worth it. The Russell Wilson story today was pretty good, though I rarely read the articles.

Likewise. Seems like it used to be better, but the articles seem to have kind of become stagnant. I open up the app every day or so and there's rarely anything interesting there about our main local teams anymore. Hit and miss.

I already canceled my subscription. I can get enough eastern sports bias for free elsewhere. I don't need to pay $72 a year for more of it.

I never subscribed, even with their intro offers because I heard they don't cover college sports much

I rarely follow any pro sports these days
