Proposed rule changes don't go far enough

I would like to see a running clock during commercial timeouts. Much lower chance for injuries, and as a bonus, commercials don't lose any valuable exposure, because that's what it's all about.

We are just a couple years removed from tik-tok length games, but also banning those games because China.

We could just give the Championship trophy to the SEC every year, and not have to play the games.

Fewer injuries. Run NIL ads for the players. Sign autographs at ad-halftime. End with punt-pass-kick competition for a new car.

As is obvious to anyone at a game where a tv clock guy comes out onto the field after a punt, etc, with a 2:45 clock count down, it is not the game that is too long it is the commercials.

Yet somehow the 2:45 breaks are often too short for the band to play even once

It was refreshing and awesome when the band played during senior introductions at the wsu basketball game. I haven't heard that much playing in-years and they didnt limit them to 30 seconds. If I was a spinser, I would not pay to advertise at Cal basketball games.

What a crock of sh*t! Instead of all this BS to shorten the game by 7 or 8 minutes to improve player safety, how about eliminating all 12 playoff games. That eliminates 720 minutes of playing time, which will surely have more impact on reducing injuries. The powers to be in the NCAA could care less about player injuries. They only care about $$$$.

I'm still surprised we haven't moved to sponsored content in the broadcast instead of dedicated commercials.

"This first down brought to you by Charmin, for when the defense is extra soft"
"This third and long brought to you by southwest airlines, for when you need to go a big distance in a hurry"
"This touchdown brought to you by Trojan Condoms...always there to help you score safely."

What does second one mean?

Football Rules Committee has recommended 3 rule changes: No back-to-back timeouts; No untimed downs at end of first and third quarters; Running clock after first downs gained

This would cut out about 10 plays/game, per estimates.

Oversight Committee will vote April 20.

They will just add more commercials.

And each set of new commercials will be 2:45 in length.
